The London School of Economics and Political Science selects EvaSys

London, UK – 16 November 2009. Electric Paper Limited today announced that The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) has selected Electric Paper’s EvaSys Survey Automation Suite for the management of their university wide module surveys.

Historically, survey administration and reporting has been a laborious and complex process at the university. LSE required a solution that would automate the entire process.  They wanted to manage multiple surveys and provide instant feedback to the many stakeholders within the organisation to reduce the impact upon resources.

LSE will use EvaSys for its module satisfaction surveys to evaluate permanent teaching staff and the modules they are teaching. It will also be used to evaluate teaching of Graduate Teaching Assistants. The first project, with 38,000 questionnaires, is administered this month with results back in two weeks.

The Key for LSE was to find a scalable system with high accuracy of scanned results, fast in producing and delivering results, yet flexible in terms of delivery method for both paper and online. LSE is now able to conduct and report on both paper and online surveys in one system. This flexibility will also help in achieving high response rates. LSE’s EvaSys system will integrate with their student portal (VLE) Moodle. Through this integration, surveys can be generated easily with up-to-date course data and students can respond to online surveys directly from their Moodle accounts. These characteristics were also pivotal in the selection process. “EvaSys was selected after an extensive tendering exercise because it offered the most flexibility yet dedicated system for our needs”, says Mike Page, Head of ARD Systems and Business Processes at LSE, “It’s a clear winner in our eyes.”

“In contrast to data capturing solutions, EvaSys automates many of the steps that normally need manual interaction, making the whole process from production to reporting significantly more efficient. We are confident that EvaSys will enable the LSE to create a fast and streamlined method reducing cost in administering the student survey process,” explains Eric Bohms, Managing Director of Electric Paper Limited.

LSE is ranked in the top five in teaching excellence by the Guardian 2010 University league table and has the highest percentage of world-leading research of any university in the UK.
