2. Implementation

2. Implementation of the survey process

In the implementation phase surveys are created, adapted and the investigation begins:

  • Mass generation of surveys
The course data transferred from the seminar management system can now be used to log hundreds of surveys into the system using just a few simple mouse clicks. In doing this the choice of medium is completely free – it is possible to do either paper or online surveys, as well as hybrid combinations of the two.
  • Questionnaire feedback phase
In order to adapt the contents of the questionnaire to the individual desires of the instructors, there is an effective feedback system. EvaSys will e-mail a link, which allows the personalisation of questionnaires, to all instructors whose courses are to be evaluated. Individual questions can therefore be added. Furthermore, important data about the course can be harmonized.
  • Start paper based surveys
Thanks to an integrated mail merge function, it is possible to generate a single PDF file (up to several thousand pages long), even when dealing with a very large number of surveys each having individual adaptations. This can now either be produced when printing, or through an external agent. Consequently the smallest possible printing costs and the highest printing quality are ensured, at the same time ensuring the wishes of many instructors to personally adapt the questionnaire.
  • Start online surveys
Online surveys are carried out using TANs (transaction numbers). The participant can call up and fill out his questionnaire by entering the TAN into a particular web page. The TANs can either be batch e-mailed, or distributed to the participants as paper print outs.
  • Hybrid surveys
Hybrid surveys are combinations of online and paper based surveys. This ability to combine one medium with another is a particularly special feature of EvaSys. This means that the participant has the choice of whether to fill in the online survey or the paper based one, but cannot however choose to complete both. Should such an instance occur, this would be noticed at the latest in the logging stage, and would not proceed to be evaluated.
  • Investigation phase
Using professional recognition technology, EvaSys even recognises questionnaires with tilts, dirty marks or weak pencil marks. Furthermore, the EvaSys Administrator can apply filter rules, so that implausible combinations of check marks can automatically be discounted. These filter rules apply for both online and paper-based surveys. What’s more, in the online survey it is also possible for the participant to save the answers they have entered, and then to finish off the survey later.
