The QM version of EvaSys offers a few specific functions, which are not included in the server version Central Evaluation. These are particularly useful for allowing highly optimized quality monitoring for seminar providers.

The total quality index can be calculated for every course. This consists of several quality dimensions (structure, methodology, practical work…). Every quality dimension consists of several questions (items). Now a minimum level of quality can be defined for every question. When this defined minimum level of quality is not reached, a percentage of points is deducted from the corresponding dimension. The deductions from the dimensions are added up and then taken away from the quality index (100), taking into account the weighting of the particular dimension. So a flexible framework is created, in which the quality ratings of the items and dimensions are compiled according to the specification of your organisation.

Depending on his level of responsibility, a deacon can call up the QM views for his own or all sub areas. In the QM view he can see a graphical quality indicator, and, for example, afterwards a quality index. He can also call up a detailed view in order to ascertain exactly which questions were evaluated negatively and to decide from that if there is a need for action. He can even look at the course’s PDF report. The answers to the open questions contained within this report often enlighten us immediately to the causes and reasons for the negative assessment (which are inevitably not to do with the instructors, but also about the organizational structures, the prescribed subject matter or other general conditions).

Should a course not meet the required quality index level, for example 80%, the appropriately authorized user can now initiate a regulation report. The person responsible for course quality would also be informed about the case and asked to suggest and put into practice possible methods for improvement. It is also possible to define goals for the level of quality that should be achieved over a certain period of time. These target agreements will be adjusted after the next investigation, and the people involved with the regulation report will automatically be informed.

After a regulation report has been put into force, the resulting change in course quality can be clearly seen in a graphical format. In the regulation report, the graph shows colored lines for every question that was shown to be below the required level, so the effect of the improvement measures can be seen immediately.

An integrated report editor makes it possible to define reports, which, within certain spaces of time, automatically report back relevant quality-related data about different target groups inside the organisation. So different strategical goals can be checked and displayed in the context of the last investigation periods, or in comparison with other departments. In this way, the quality development of the whole organisation stays in sight, and the QM views of the individual courses and their detailed evaluations can be called up at any time.
Any number of reports based on the balanced scorecard method can be freely provided.
